Transform your lawn
Do you want to transform your lawn with affordable artificial turf? Get rid of your lawn mower and install our Pet 40mm grass for a hardwearing outdoor space. Our artificial grass is the perfect mix of durability and comfort for you and your pets.
If you’re worried about your dogs overheating, why not create a cool-down zone with one of our aluminium pergolas for the ultimate low-maintenance outdoor space?
Durability you can depend on
Not only does our Pet 40mm grass look great, but it also has durability you can rely on year after year.
The blend of ⅜ gauge and high stitch count means your artificial turf withstands high foot traffic. The sturdy polyurethane backing won’t disintegrate like latex for better fibre retention. Another big plus is that it removes pet odours for a clean and hygienic lawn.
Paw and barefoot-friendly
Our pet-specific grass has multiple benefits for pets and kids. Each blade has an oval profile, so there’s no spiky feel underfoot, and it’s kind to paws, too.
Low maintenance upkeep and odour-free technology mean messes can be rinsed away with a hose - simply spruce up with a stiff brush, and your lawn is ready to use. Better yet, whatever the weather, you won’t have to worry about muddy paw prints.
Installation
Pet 40mm is quick and easy to install over any surface. Check out our installation guide before ordering your artificial grass accessories.
For a flawless installation and a hassle-free lawn, here’s what you need to be aware of:
2m and 4m cuts can be joined together, but 5m cuts can only be used alone.- Ensure each piece has the pile laid the same way to look seamless from any angle.
- Always use a weed membrane so no unwanted weeds pop up in your new lawn.
We recommend using an underlay to provide extra cushioning for a pet and child-friendly lawn. Browse our blog on the best underlay choices for your installation.
Maintenance
A hard wearing lawn like our Pet 40mm is easy to maintain and doesn’t require mowing or treating with harsh chemicals.
Our maintenance tips will help you care for your artificial grass year-round. It’s a simple three-step process:
- Use a stiff-bristled brush to get rid of dirt and debris.
- Rake the pile to lift it.
- Hose away any spills or mess with a garden hose to prevent smells and bacteria build-up.
To keep your lawn looking its best, don’t leave heavy toys or furniture on the turf for extended periods, as this could flatten the pile. Also, to prevent fire risks, never place a fire pit, barbecue, or glass-topped table on your artificial grass.
Installing artificial grass is a straightforward DIY project for most gardens, patios, and balconies. The key to a long-lasting, natural-looking finish is preparing a solid, well-drained base before the grass is rolled out.
For soil areas, the existing turf is removed and replaced with a compacted sub-base (typically MOT Type 1 or granite dust),followed by a sharp sand or grano dust laying course. This creates a smooth, stable surface that prevents dips and improves drainage. For hard surfaces such as concrete, the grass can usually be fitted directly using adhesive.
Once the base is ready, the grass is rolled out, trimmed to fit, joined where required, and secured around the edges. Brushing the fibres upright and adding kiln-dried sand (if recommended by the manufacturer) helps the pile sit naturally and improves durability.
Most installations are completed in a day for an average garden.

Artificial grass is designed to be low maintenance, but a small amount of regular care will keep it looking its best for years.
For general upkeep, simply remove leaves and debris with a stiff brush or leaf blower and brush the pile against the grain to keep the fibres upright. Occasional rinsing with water will wash away dust and pollen and help the lawn stay fresh.
For homes with pets, solid waste should be removed as normal and the area lightly hosed down. Most modern artificial grasses have a permeable backing, allowing liquids to drain through easily. A mild detergent or artificial grass cleaner can be used for a deeper clean if needed.
To prevent flattening in high-traffic areas, brush the surface periodically. With this basic care, a good quality artificial lawn will maintain its colour and shape for many years.
